Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Regional Operations Manager, this position is accountable for directing and supervising the manufacturing operations at the plant from receipt of materials through shipping, utilizing the facilities, equipment, and personnel to achieve the highest level of production of products while maintaining the highest level of safety and quality at the lowest possible cost.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Contech s policies, values and strategies.
Ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect providing an environment for success.
Clearly communicates expectations and accountabilities for performance helping employees see the link between individual performance and department/company achievement of its strategic plan.
Recognizes and rewards good performance and gives regular feedback.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Directs and is responsible for 10 30 production employees.
  • Develops and maintains an effective, unified, and loyal organization.
  • Provides leadership and direction to all employees.
  • Selects, develops and appraises personnel to assure a technically competent and highly motivated organization.
  • Maintains good employee relations by maintaining knowledge and communicating organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides daily direction to staff functions, including production scheduling, inventory, order processing and transportation.
  • Supervises one or more of the following:
    Production Manager/Planner, Plant clerks, and Plant working leader.
  • Directs activities pertaining to the all production operations
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of all manufacturing processes and production equipment.
  • Maintains a thorough up to date knowledge of specifications required by the customers and government agencies.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of Interstate Commerce Commission and Department Of Transportation.

  • Resolves major problems in scheduling changes, equipment utilization, and personnel requirements.
  • Coordinates directly with internal and external Customers, including Customer Solutions and Sales personnel with regard to orders, routings, specifications, pricing, shipping, etc.

  • Develops and maintains high plant standards of safety and working conditions to provide maximum protection for the employees and equipment.
  • Provides sustained leadership to all employees in administering an effective Accident Prevention Fundamentals Program.
  • Enforces the Personal Protective Equipment requirement with anyone entering the property.
    Educates all Employees to the Contech safety procedures including daily, weekly, monthly safety meetings, safety postings, safety audits and on-line training.
  • Ensure that all StormWater testing and StormWater Pollution Protection Plans are developed and maintained as per state and local agencies.
  • Ensures that all products manufactured or distributed are of the highest quality and meet the applicable specifications.
  • All quality procedures are followed and recorded with accordance with our policy.
  • Maintains a high level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • The ability to analyze and evaluate monthly metrics regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Inventory.
  • Develop and initiate corrective actions to coarse correct toward Company goals.
  • Able to lead and direct team to promote cohesiveness and operational effectiveness
  • Maintain proper inventory levels to support the local market.
    Work with corporate inventory analysts to adjust as necessary.
  • Identify OSMI and develop and initiate corrective actions to course correct toward Company goals.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required

  • 5 years in a supervisory and/or leadership capacity
  • Required minimum education:
    4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
  • Computer proficient including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Operating Systems
  • Broad knowledge of business functions, including Safety, Quality, Production Operations, Accounting, Inventory Management, Cost Control/ Profit & Loss Management, and Shipping
  • Exceptional problem solving skills and results oriented ability
  • Broad technical knowledge of product and production methods
